What is GRASP?
GRASP stands for the Greenville Regional After School Program.
Our purpose is to raise up a generation of leaders for the Greenville community, Mercer County, the Western PA region and our world,
through people who care and experiences that count.
Who can attend GRASP?
Any students in Junior or Senior High
(Grades 6-12) are invited to attend.
When is GRASP?
Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
How do I get to GRASP?
Each day, transportation to GRASP is provided
courtesy of Fry Transportation and Keystone Charter School.
What is the cost of GRASP?
FREE for all students!!
There is no charge for homework assistance, free time activities,
organized games, or discussion time.
Hot, home-cooked meals are also provided, and they’re free of charge.
What does a typical day @ GRASP look like?
GRASP addresses the whole person.
Weekly activities include homework assistance, organized activities,
dinner, and a group discussion.
Recreation During recreation time, there are options of activities that include pool, foosball, board games, football, and many other activities. During this time, students may purchase a variety of sodas or water to drink.
Study Time Academic excellence is encouraged during supervised study time. College students and adults are present to assist with homework and tutor in needed subjects. Computers are available for research and report writing. Emphasis is placed upon developing good study habits and the importance of education.
Community Service Community service projects engage students in giving to a world that is larger than their school and friends. Past projects have included building and installing bird feeders for shut-ins, visiting the elderly, and painting and planting for other community organizations. These projects are not weekly, but they provide an opportunity for students to get involved.
Some of our new projects include a community 5k Race and being involved in the Hometown Missions Project this summer through First Baptist Church & Living Word Christian Center.
How do I get involved?
The community has an obligation to give hope to the next generation. We rely on volunteers from area churches, schools, and agencies who are giving of their time and resources to ensure the program’s success. Volunteers
provide a hand in preparing meals, lead activities and games during recreation, tutor students, work on fundraising events, assist in the office, and serve on the Advisory Board.
How do can I join the program?
6th through 12th grade students can enroll by completing a permission and
medical release and returning it to the school (with a bus permissions form if they wish to ride the bus) or bringing it to the program site (if the students have parental permission to walk).
